Surabhi Caterings brings authentic, traditional flavour to every celebration — from a full banana-leaf sadya to fried rice, idli-sambar and everyday tiffin menus — cooked the way it has always been, for family.
Surabhi Caterings began in Kazhakootam with a single promise — that every meal we serve should taste like it was cooked at home, by someone who cares. More than forty years later, that promise hasn't changed, even as we've grown to serve families across Thiruvananthapuram.
We've cooked for the first sadya of a newlywed couple, the quiet gathering after a noolkettu, the warmth of a housewarming, and the solemn meals that bring a family together in grief. Each occasion asks for a different care, and we've learned to give each one exactly that.
Everything is still prepared the traditional way — ground, chopped, and stirred by hand, served on banana leaf, the way sadya has always been meant to be eaten.
For over four decades, Mr. Surendran Nair has led the kitchens of Surabhi Caterings, and his hand is behind the flavour that families in Kazhakootam and Trivandrum have come to trust. His culinary skill is widely known — a rare instinct for the exact balance of a sambar, the right bite of a thoran, the patience a good payasam demands.
He continues to personally oversee every wedding sadya, reception, noolkettu, housewarming, and anniversary meal Surabhi Caterings prepares, treating each one with the same care as the very first.
"A sadya is not just a meal — it is how we honour the people we serve it to."
From the joy of a wedding to the quiet of a memorial, we bring the same discipline and warmth to every table we serve.
A full traditional sadya for the wedding feast, scaled for gatherings large or intimate, served exactly on time.
Elegant menus for reception evenings, balancing tradition with the lighter courses guests expect after a big day.
A thoughtfully prepared feast for the noolkettu ceremony, honouring family custom in every dish we bring to the leaf.
A festive sadya to bless a new home, prepared fresh on site and served the traditional way, on banana leaf.
A quiet, respectful feast to mark a remembrance day, prepared with the same care and dignity every year.
Wedding anniversaries and family milestones, celebrated with a warm, generous spread for everyone at the table.
Birthdays, get-togethers, temple functions and more — tell us the occasion, and we'll bring the right menu to it.
Rice at the centre, curries in their proper place around it — every sadya we serve follows the order that generations of Kerala kitchens have handed down.
